In this conversation, we trace how HDC and IsDB came together through the 2021 Halal Industry Ecosystem Assessment across 22 countries. Following the Halal Economy Leadership Forums from Riyadh to Algiers to Baku, we look at how IsDB’s tools, including trade finance, ICIEC insurance and Reverse Linkage are supporting halal industry development. The convergence of zakat, waqf and digital inclusion in the halal economy, together with Malaysia’s strong halal expertise, not just its certified products, has becoming an exportable asset, opening opportunities across IsDB’s 57 OIC member countries.
